Course overview
Acting and performance lie at the heart of the entertainment industry. Great actors need to have imagination, expressive energy, confidence, self-belief, a desire to explore and the ability to work hard to get where they want to.
Where better to learn the craft of acting and performing than in Glasgow, a cultural hub of emerging talent and a city known for its wit, humour and challenging audiences.
On this practical programme, you will train with expert teaching staff. They will guide you towards the techniques and skills you will need to help you develop into a fully rounded performer, ready to progress your career in the world of acting and performance.
Performing Arts at Kelvin work in partnership with Platform Theatre, where many of the productions take place. We also collaborate with other industry professionals who will deliver expert workshops to you, providing you with current industry insights and connections.

Entry requirements
Entry is by audition only.
Entry onto the course is based on the quality of performance and potential to develop on the course. The audition process will require you to take part in a group workshop session, which will involve a selection of acting exercises.
You will also be asked to prepare two contrasting monologues. Further details about the audition process are available once interviews/auditions are arranged.
For this course, if English is not your first language
- you need to have SQA ESOL Higher (or equivalent, click here to see equivalent qualifications)
- If you do not have a formal ESOL qualification but your language skills meet this level, you should apply for your course and then contact our Admissions team to organise an internal language assessment here at the College.
