Course overview

The HND Acting and Performance course is predominately practical.

You will train with expert teaching staff, delivering the necessary techniques and training needed to allow you to develop the disciplines required to become a fully rounded performer.

We offer one of the few Glasgow based, HND Acting and Performing SQA awarded courses.

The Performing Arts department work in partnership with Platform Theatre where many of the productions take place. We also work with outside industry professionals who deliver industry expert workshops making sure our work is up to date and line with current market trends.

Entry requirements

  • An HNC in Acting or equivalent qualification in the performance field is desirable

Entry is by audition only.

Entry onto the course is based on the quality of performance and potential to develop on the course.

The audition process will require you to take part in a group workshop session, which will involve a selection of acting exercises. You will also be asked to prepare two contrasting monologues.

Further details about the audition process are available once interviews/auditions are arranged.

For this course, if English is not your first language

  • you need to have SQA ESOL Higher (or equivalent)
  • If you do not have a formal ESOL qualification but your language skills meet this level, you should apply for your course and then contact our Admissions team to organise an internal language assessment  here at the College.
