About the Hospitality Department

Kelvin's Hospitality and Professional Cookery department introduces learners to the hospitality and catering industry. Classes are delivered in a realistic hospitality environment with learners based within our Training Kitchen, Front of House Bistro or Food Service Hub.

The hospitality department are front facing and actively involved in corporate and seasonal events, alongside the operation of our restaurant which is open to the public offering learners an array of learning opportunities and development of transferrable skills. During your time at GKC, you will have access to state of the art and contemporary equipment, preparing you for further studies or employment.

Our teaching team bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experiences from the hospitality industry having been employed in hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars, NHS and stadia catering.

Our team operates with two Professional Chef Lecturers and one Front of House Lecturer.

Students will be supported through curriculum by industry standards Chefs who will contextualise learning and offer a creative and current industry standard learning experience.

In addition, our Front of House team bring along a wealth of knowledge with food and drinks service, event planning and customer experience.
