Course overview

This course will help you kick-start your career in a range of areas related to the media industry. You will learn about film, advertising and creative writing and develop skills required for employment in a modern media workplace.

You will enhance your digital communication skills and develop creative skills in media through individual and group projects. You will enjoy a pleasant and friendly environment whist learning about the fast-changing media industry. The skills you develop will equally be very helpful to jobs in a wide range of industry areas, as media skills and effective internal and external communication skills are crucial to all businesses and organisations.

The course will prepare you for further study in media and communications, and is also an excellent introduction to subjects related to business and marketing or digital creative industries.

Entry requirements

  • Four National 4 or equivalent qualifications.
  • An interest in media.

For this course, if English is not your first language

  • you need to have SQA ESOL National 5 (or equivalent)
  • If you do not have a formal ESOL qualification but your language skills meet this level, you should apply for your course and then contact our Admissions team to organise an internal language assessment  here at the College.

Mature learners with experience in other employment areas will be considered.
