Course overview

Our ESOL Youth Progression courses are aimed at students from the ages of 16-19 who want to improve their English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Some of the courses also include numeracy, ICT, and science units.

We offer four ESOL Youth Progression courses at different levels:

  • ESOL: Intro to Further Education (SCQF Level 2)
  • ESOL: Entry to Further Education (SCQF Level 3)
  • ESOL with Core Skills (SCQF Level 4)
  • ESOL with STEM (SCQF Level 5

ESOL: Intro to Further Education (SCQF Level 2)

Students will improve their English language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, as well as developing study skills that will help support them in any future study. In addition, the course is designed to help students make the transition from school to further education.

Future prospects

Depending on their level of study, ESOL Youth Progression students may progress to further ESOL at the next level, employment, vocational FE at various levels, or Higher Education.
