Course overview
This vibrant and rigorous NQ Dance & Fitness programme offers immersive, practical training in Dance, Fitness, Choreography, Nutrition, Anatomy, Holistic training and Dance Performance, preparing you for a wide range of opportunities in the performing arts and fitness industries, alike. Guided by our industry-experienced faculty, you will develop both creative and technical skills through individual and collaborative projects which prepares you for transition into the working industry or further training in a variety of capacities. Our faculty will work with you to develop your Dance skills in Jazz, Contemporary and Commercial disciplines as-well-as developing your fitness skills in Exercise to Music, Conditioning, Circuit training and Anatomy. You will develop knowledge in skills in nutrition and holistic approaches to training, & you will develop and implement skills in choreography and dance performance techniques. In the NQ program you will further develop your creative and performance skills, & work on a variety of creative and prescriptive projects. If you are passionate about working in Dance and/or Fitness, Performing, Teaching/Education, Choreography, in Professional & Community Arts Theatre practitioner, we would encourage you to apply for this full-time program. This NQ is an excellent option for candidates who want to progress onto the HN Performing Arts or Fitness qualifications here at Kelvin.
This course is highly practical and physically demanding, with activities such as conditioning work, jumps, leaps, turns, lifting, supporting, partnering, floor based activities and intensive physical and movement work integral to the curriculum. A good level of stamina and physical capability is essential for successful participation.
The criteria for some units are determined by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) and cannot be modified.

Entry requirements
Entry is by audition only.
Applicants must have a National 5 (or equivalent) preferably in PE, Dance, or English.
Entry onto the course is by audition/Interview. The audition/Interview process will require you to take part in a group workshop where we can look at skills in your main disciplines. This is also an opportunity for you to find out more about our program, teaching staff and learn if this program is a good fit for your ambitions.

- you need to have SQA ESOL Higher (or equivalent, click here to see equivalent qualifications)
- If you do not have a formal ESOL qualification but your language skills meet this level, you should apply for your course and then contact our Admissions team to organise an internal language assessment here at the College.

You can transition into the Dance, Fitness, Acting & Musical Theatre industry in a range of capacities including, but not exclusively; Dancer, Performer, Production creative, Group Exercise Instructor, Choreographer, Teacher/Education, Film/TV work, Writing, Directing, Cruise Ship Entertainment, Entertainments Team, Community Theatre, Education and Arts/Fitness Facilitator.

You can progress onto further study at HND and BA level, with UHI Perth, at Kelvin or a wide range of other Universities
