The NQ Art & Design: Digital Media Foundation (Level 5) at Glasgow Kelvin College, East End campus, is designed for students with a keen interest in art and design who are eager to build their skills and confidence.
Whether you’re just beginning or looking to expand on what you’ve already learned, this course will help you develop both traditional and digital skills to prepare for progression to higher-level study or entry-level work in the creative sector.
You’ll explore a wide range of subjects including drawing, painting, design, illustration, printmaking, mixed media, and digital software skills. Alongside practical projects, you’ll also work on sketchbooks, portfolio development, self-promotion, and communication skills — all essential for future study or employment.

To apply for the NQ Art & Design: Digital Media Foundation (Level 5):

✅ You should have enthusiasm and a genuine interest in art and design.
You’ll be asked to upload a small selection of artwork to support your application and may be invited to interview.

This course is an excellent starting point for exploring creative pathways. While many graduates progress to NC Art & Design Level 6 at Glasgow Kelvin College, the skills gained here can also support entry-level opportunities in areas such as:
