Course overview
This course is a blend of both theory-based and practical skills. Your ability to plan and coach fitness and sporting sessions will be developed throughout this course.
Your learning will take place in our one of our high-performance gyms, games hall and a classroom, and in the industry itself.
Your assessments on this programme take place throughout the year but at a time when you are ready to be assessed.
You will have the opportunity to work with organisations in the public, commercial or voluntary sector. There will also be an opportunity to gain additional industry recognised qualifications such as Metafit, Spin, Boxing and Football and Volleyball.
A PVG will be required to undertake the mandatory placement which is embedded in the course.

Entry requirements
- 4 x National 5 Qualifications OR
- 1 x Higher (1 of which should be English Based)
- NQ/NC qualification at SCQF Level 5 in a Sports related subject.
For this course, if English is not your first language
- you need to have SQA ESOL Higher (or equivalent, click here to see equivalent qualifications)
- If you do not have a formal ESOL qualification but your language skills meet this level, you should apply for your course and then contact our Admissions team to organise an internal language assessment here at the College.
