Cycling for All Receives International Green Gown Award Recognition

Glasgow Kelvin College receives a 2026 Highly Commended International Green Gown Award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.Glasgow Kelvin College’s Cycling for All project has received international recognition after being named Highly Commended in the International Green Gown Awards 2026.

The International Green Gown Awards recognise outstanding sustainability initiatives across universities and colleges around the world, celebrating projects that are making a positive environmental and social impact.

The College’s Cycling for All initiative aims to make cycling more accessible and inclusive, giving students and staff opportunities to get active, build confidence and consider cycling as a healthy and sustainable way to travel.

Through a range of cycling activities and support across the College, the project has helped remove some of the barriers that can prevent people from getting involved in cycling, while contributing to Glasgow Kelvin’s wider sustainability ambitions.

The Highly Commended recognition was announced during International Green Gown Awards Winners’ Week, 7–10 September 2026, placing Cycling for All alongside sustainability initiatives from educational institutions around the world.

The award marks another significant achievement for Cycling for All and recognises the work of staff, students and partners who have helped develop and support the initiative.
