Amanda is a lecturer on the musical theatre and acting and performance courses at Glasgow kelvin college. Amanda trained in dance and went on to study musical theatre specialising in dance and performance. From a young age she could be seen gracing the stage of most Glasgow theatres in the yearly pantomimes. She has over 16 years’ experience teaching in the performing arts sector, including working in both higher and further education.

Amanda has extensive experience in choreographing shows in theatres all over Scotland and working with numerous production companies. White Christmas, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes and Summer holiday are some of her favourite musicals that she has choreographed and her favourite performance to date has been dancing with Take That as part of their progress tour.

As much as she loves to perform it was always a dream of Amanda’s to be a teacher. She qualified as a dance teacher with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing and Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance then went on to gain a Teaching Qualification in further education then a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Development at the University of Dundee. After opening her own dance school, Amanda taught at Stow College, Glasgow Kelvin College and the University of the West of Scotland. Amanda also works in education for the Scottish Qualifications Authority as a verifier, marker and assessor for dance.
