Course overview
The Skills for Learning Life and Work is a one year, full-time course with SCQF Level 1 aimed at young people (often school leavers).
The course aim is to continue a broad range of educational skills to maintain skills learned at school and to progress into adult life. Units are practical and inclusive and include Enterprise, Cookery, I.T, Drama, Environment and Art.
The course includes project-based work developed by the class and this changes from year to year. This course is based at East End Campus.
What you will learn
This course offers you a chance to make friends and develop the skills you need to take your place in your community. You will be learning in a supportive environment with staff who will help with your individual needs and who want you to achieve your very best.
This is a great introductory course for learners that are at Level 1, helping to make the step from school to the college environment.
Entry requirements
You do not need to have any formal qualifications, but you should have
- Have a learning disability
- Working at Level 1 or Level 2 (but requires more support).
Future prospects
Learners that are able to progress could apply to progress onto Level 1/2- General Education course or the Level 2 Skills for Learning Life and Work
