Our new dynamic January start course, Introduction to Modern Musicianship course is designed for aspiring musicians, producers, and industry professionals seeking to develop their skills in music performance, music business, and sound production. Through a blend of practical workshops, hands-on projects, and theoretical study, students will engage deeply with the music industry, gaining the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving music industry.

What you will learn
The NQ course will include a selection of units from the 3 music curriculum areas such as :-
- Introduction to Recording & Editing
- Sound production & Engineering
- Appreciation of Music
- Music: Organising a Community-based Musical Activity
- Live Performance
- Marketing & Promotion
- Music Technical support
Entry requirements
No formal qualification required, however
National 4 English or above (or equivalent) would be advantageous in addition to a real interest and enthusiasm for the Music Industry
You must be 16 years or over at the start of the course.
For this course, if English is not your first language
- you need to have SQA ESOL National 5 (or equivalent, click here to see equivalent qualifications)
- If you do not have a formal ESOL qualification but your language skills meet this level, you should apply for your course and then contact our Admissions team to organise an internal language assessment here at the College.
