Course overview

Train, move and perform with strength, style and stamina.

This exciting and physically demanding course blends dance performance, choreography and fitness training, giving you the creative and technical grounding needed for work or further study in both the performing arts and fitness industries.

You’ll train in Jazz, Contemporary and Commercial dance, while developing your understanding of fitness instruction, anatomy, nutrition and holistic wellbeing. Guided by industry-experienced tutors, you’ll work on a mix of creative and prescriptive projects that build your performance ability, body awareness and professional discipline.

The course is highly practical and physically intensive, featuring conditioning, leaps, turns, floor work, partnering, and choreography-based sessions designed to enhance both dance skill and physical fitness. A good level of stamina and capability is essential for full participation, and you’ll be supported to build strength, flexibility and endurance throughout.

This programme also introduces key professional practices including choreography, group instruction and holistic training — making it the perfect bridge to higher-level study in either Dance, Performing Arts or Fitness at Glasgow Kelvin College.

This course is ideal for:

  • Aspiring dancers and performers who want to combine creative performance and fitness training.
  • Learners passionate about physical wellbeing, choreography and teaching.
  • Students planning to progress to HND Performing Arts or HND Fitness, Health & Exercise.
  • Energetic, collaborative individuals who thrive in a physically active environment
