Winner International Green Gown Award

In 2024, Glasgow Kelvin College celebrated an incredible achievement by winning an International Green Gown Award for Next Generation Learning & Skills. The Green Gown Awards recognise exceptional sustainability initiatives in education institutions worldwide, celebrating innovation, dedication, and impact on environmental and social responsibility.

The College's winning entry, the “Fighting Fast Fashion” project, showcased the creativity and sustainability efforts of the Fashion Department, in collaboration with Environmental Sustainability Manager Sarah Shea. This initiative included transformative projects such as “Project Runway,” “Bridal Project,” and “Swap Shop,” which highlighted sustainable practices in fashion and encouraged community engagement.

Competing against 13 prestigious institutions, including the University of Queensland (Australia), Concordia University (Canada), and the University of Strasbourg (France), Glasgow Kelvin College stood out for its impactful and innovative approach.

This success is a testament to the dedication and hard work of its staff and fashion students, whose efforts made this remarkable win possible.
